The Industrial Workroom Supervisor oversees the workflow for and through the Industrial Workroom. They will work closely with the Production Manager and Project Manager to ensure that all work is completed accurately and efficiently. They will be in charge of scheduling, assigning, and quality checking all work that is for the Industrial team.
$24/hr, full time
Supervises construction of understructures of costume pieces, specifically foam, plastic, metal, and mechanism portions.
Coordinates with the Production Manager to set priorities and distribute workload to ensure timely completion of projects.
Makes work assignments for the team while prioritizing the most effective use of available labor and skills development to strengthen and diversify staff.
Ensures that all employees are trained on necessary tools and chemicals for their assigned tasks and that related safety documentation is complete.
Supervises the preparation, material inventory and assembly of costume pieces especially as it relates to the production of multiples and increasing production efficiency.
Develops new construction techniques to meet specific project needs.
Works with team members to standardize production techniques and technologies. Focuses on efficient production methods through advancing technologies.
Maintains approved techniques for costume construction and refurbishment.
Ensures employees are trained in the correct assembly of costume pieces.
Maintains current costume bibles with pattern standards, costume construction instructions/techniques and materials.
Keeps accurate records of time and materials on each project.
Maintains quality control standards monitoring quality throughout the production process.
Monitors employee performance and follows protocols for periodic reviews.
Maintains organized and efficient work spaces.
Enforces and adheres to safety rules and regulations.
Contributes to a culture of safety.
Follows and enforces protocols that support accurate inventory and on-hand supplies.
Operates equipment necessary in the production of costumes such as industrial sewing machines, vacuform machine, band saw, drill press and belt sander.
Contributes to effective equipment maintenance.
Uses power hand tools such as sanders, rivet guns, drills, and heat guns.
Ability to work with adhesives, paints, and other chemicals used in construction of costume pieces.
Constructs and refurbishes costume pieces.

During the performance of their work duties, the incumbent will be required to occasionally lift up to 50 pounds and will frequently lift up to 25 pounds such as moving costumes or their component materials.

The employee works in an office environment with regular meetings and activities required in the production environment. While in the production environment, the employee is occasionally exposed to contaminants such as dust and odors from the materials and processes required for costume production. The production environment also includes storage areas for both material components and costumes. The noise level in the production environment is loud as impacted by the tools and industrial equipment in use.
